A friend sent me that and to me it did have a bit of merit.... DS was always so sick as a bub he was barely outside until after 12months of age and then still as we lived in a spot with lots of hazards for children e.g. damns, only farm fences, massively busy road with lots of trucks and he suffered from hayfever badly at that stage he still didn't get outside a lot.

Since we have moved to our new more child friendly house he is outside heaps... yes he does still have allergies and yes his egg SPT has gotten worse but we are not seeing his contact react as easily and his overall health has improved.

This is a very interesting theory!

It seems to me that food allergies are less prevalent in some Asian countries, and it coincides with those countries located close to the equator.

I have heard several family/relatives from my home country suggested me to sun the kids in the morning...

I wonder if that is a partial explanation on why some allergies were grown out of around school age?
I assume school age children usually get more exposure to sun than younger ones (at least with my children, I notice that they get more exposure to morning sun since they started preschool :))

When I first read this I though what a load of crap, my kids have always been out in the sun.. But thinking back I never let them out side EVER without sunscreen in the summer.. So maybe it might have a bit of a theory cause food allergy so on the rise, myself as a child never ever had sunscreen on, infact it was always a bit of a contest to see who got the brownest by end of summer. Im not sure sunscreen was evern about till I was alot older. I never knew anyone with food allergy either.
Well true or not true about the sun Ive had my kids out in just there undies every morning from 8-10am since reading this, cause you just never know.. Anything that might help will try, and its lovely out at that time anyway so got nothing to lose.
